The Quarry
Time to test my new big bike.
Time to test the MONSTER.
On the search for an appropriate venue, we found a little quarry down South of Austria.
A tiny little mine.
Old but new to me.
Steep rock faces, loose underground and some decent lines to conquer.
The perfect location to put my new bad boy to test.
To see what it can do and what it´s capable of.
To conquer myself and bring both of us to the edge of what`s possible.
To hop into my fullface lid again and go wild.
To feel the freedom but also the pressure of freeride again.
To feel the nerves.
To feel the blood pumping.
But also feel the excitement.
To experience all these parts of the world of freeride.
And to finally and properly ride a real big bike again.
But first things first.
Couple chilled little roll-downs to get the feeling of the underground and to get into the zone.
Felt good and comfy right away and didn´t take me too long to be ready to step it up.
To hike higher and to drop into the longer and steeper lines we scouted.
It´s always about the first try.
About the first drop-in.
About being the first to hit a new line.
And before you do, you really gotta check it out.
You gotta take your time and have a look at it.
Have a look at your line from top to bottom.
You gotta check exactly where you need to go and where you have to put your tires to.
Check your drop in.
Check your line.
Check your braking points.
Your turning points.
And very important check your exit.
Simply be prepared for what´s to come.
Be prepared for what you put yourself into.
But you still don´t really know what to expect until you give it a try.
Until you feel the speed the line takes you to.
And there´s no way back once you´re in it.
All you can do is hold on to the plan and trust in what you can do.
Time to go steeper and get more aggressive.
This is what it takes to open up new lines.
This is what Freeriding is all about.
This is what Freeriding feels like.
All part of the game.
And it feels so good.
Scary drop-ins, steep rock faces that put you up to speed in just a blink of an eye and loose underground that makes it hard to slow down before the next steep technical section.
What a wild roller coaster ride of a run.
Exactly what i wanted.
Exactly what i was looking for to satisfy the requirements of a bike like this.
To satisfy the MONSTER.
Freeride.
All about bikes that can go big.
Bikes that make us conquer scary locations and wild lines.
Bikes that force us to step things up and take ourselfs to the limit.
Bikes that make us feel the blood pumping.
Make us feel excitement and relief.
Make us live in the moment a 100%.
What a sport.
What a lifestyle.
What a way of living.
CHEERS Freeriding!
