Highlands: “a mountainous area of a country” (Cambridge Dictionary) or mostly known as the mountainous part of Scotland, often also associated with Gaelic culture.
Land well known for its amazingly beautiful nature.
Well known for its special looking epic landscape and seemingly endless wides.
Well known for its grass covered hills, extensive forests and beautiful lakes.
Well known for its rainy days and cold winds.
Land with tons of history and stories that are told all over the world.
Land where the beauty of the landscape itself and the freedom it gives is unequally more important than some perfect weather conditions with blue skies and unclouded sunshine.
Land where you feel your mindset positively change while being there.
Land I always wanted to go to.
But what if we aren´t able to go?
What if we are forced to stay home?
To stay where we are used to what landscape looks like?
What daily life looks like?
But does it?
Does it really look the same just because it´s the same country?
Does it really look the same everywhere?
Does it really get boring?
Isn´t it just us?
Isn´t it just us being not open minded enough?
Open minded enough to have a closer look?
To give it a chance?
What if there is still a lot to see?
What if there is still a lot to explore?
What if there is still a lot to experience?
A lot to see, explore and experience in a place we think we know so well?
In a place we call home?
Isn´t there still a lot to see?
Isn´t there still a lot to explore?
Isn´t there still a lot to experience?
A lot to see, explore and experience in the place you call home?
Don´t you think so?
What if you´re home but it feels like being somewhere else?
Somewhere you always wanted to go to?
It´s not these famous highlands.
It´s not Scotland.
It´s not land with history that big.
But it still feels like it.
It still looks like it.
Isn´t it great as well?
Isn´t it enjoyable as well?
Travel the world but appreciate home!
Explore new countries but don´t forget the beauty of where you come from!
Experience new places but always remember your roots!
It´s your roots that help you grow up and it´s life that makes you be a grown-up.
Thanks home for being as beautiful and special as everything else out there waiting for us to be discovered.
Thanks mountainbiking for making me see and appreciate all that more than I ever would.
Thanks life for delivering the goods in times we seem to forget about it.
